A DJ Masterclass with the DJ & MC Academy

Last week, we welcomed the DJ & MC Academy for a hands-on, two-hour DJ workshop with our students, and the energy was incredible.

The DJ & MC Academy have been working closely with young people and community organisations to create the spaces and opportunities they need. They have designed and built two state-of-the-art recording studios: one in White Hart Lane in the heart of Tottenham and another in Pymmes Park in Edmonton N18. Both centres were shaped by young people’s own visions, from the themes to the colours, with the DJ & MC Academy bringing those ideas to life. These spaces are completely free for young people and young adults to use, whether they want to create music, write lyrics, record songs and raps or explore new creative pathways.

During their session at LAET, their team brought in their full professional setup and created an environment where everyone felt confident to get involved. From students already experimenting with mixing to those simply curious about the craft, the workshop gave every participant the chance to explore something new.

Seeing students step up to the decks, try new techniques and support one another made the session a real highlight. A huge thank you to the DJ & MC Academy for bringing their expertise and their passion to our community.
